DIGM is an optional ecosystem layer on Fuego — not required for HEAT mint, HEAT CDs, Hearth, or swapXFG.

What is DIGM?

DIGM focuses on becoming the primary use-case layer on top of Fuego that drives atomic swap volume, which in turn fuels the Commitment Deposit (CD) yield pool. In the DIGM ecosystem, Fuego serves as a privacy-focused store-of-value chain with native atomic swaps, and on-chain yield. By driving music purchases and ecosystem usage in XFG, DIGM acts as the killer app to secure Fuego’s long-term economic model.

Core Features

  • No L2/L3: The architecture relies directly on Fuego L1. The previously planned Elderfiers and L2 networks have been removed to minimize regulatory surface and concentrate engineering efforts on core features like hidden amounts (BP+ / MLSAG) and atomic swaps.
  • P2P Atomic Swaps: Uses adaptor signatures, indistinguishable from normal ring signatures.
  • Asset Tags: DIGM leverages specific tx_extra tags (e.g., 0xA8 for DIGM Mint) directly on-chain to handle meta-information without requiring an entire secondary blockchain.

Ecosystem Assets

The ecosystem utilizes several on-chain assets:
  • XFG (Fuego): The native gas and store of value token.
  • HEAT: Fuego flatcoin (mint by burning XFG; CDs lock HEAT).
  • CD (Commitment Deposit): Term-locked HEAT earning protocol fee yield.
  • DIGM: Specific asset types for artists, curators, and listeners managed through special tx_extra metadata tags.
Note: DIGM functionality is still being expanded. Check the tx_extra tags in the codebase (e.g., 0x0A for Albums, 0x0B for Listen Rights, 0x0C for Curator rules, etc.) to see current capability levels.
